Greeting
From 2020, I will serve as the second director of the Center
for Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The Faculty of
Engineering of Ehime University has established the Department
of Marine Engineering from 1949 to 1991, and has conducted
distinctive educational research. Since 2008, a special course
for marine engineering has been set up by Imabari
Shipbuilding's endowed course in the Master's Program of the
Graduate School of Science and Engineering to cultivate many
engineers and researchers who are responsible for the
shipbuilding industry. In line with this background, the
Center for Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Ehime
University was established in 2018.
The center will continue to focus on specialized shipbuilding
education for undergraduate students and, with the cooperation
of local companies, will promote joint research on the issues
faced by local industries and contribute to the solution of
various issues. We aim to become a center that is loved and
needed by the community.
